      Commissioner's Son Home From Japan
      Cpl. Wayne F. Wade, son of Mr. and Mrs. George Wade, of east of Shoals, has returned after fourteen months in Tokyo, Japan. He is 20 years old and has been in the Army for the past twenty-one months. He expects to receive his discharge in the next fifteen day.

      Lt. Francis Wade, age 24, a brother of Wayne's is spending a few days at home. He is recovering from wounds received while fighting in Europe. He is now stationed at Battle Creek, Mich.

      The father of the two servicemen is a member of the Board of County Commissioners.

      Obituary:
      Francis M. Wade, 48, East Gate Terrace, Loogootee, an NAD Crane employee, died at 5:45 a.m. today at the Daviess County Hospital, following a serious illness of five weeks.

      Mr. Wade was an Army veteran of World War II, having received the purple heart and bronze star medals. He was a member of American Legion Post No. 120, Loogootee, and the Loogootee K of C.

      Born December 31, 1921 in Martin County, he was a son of the late George Wade and Mrs. Margaret (Freeman) Wade, who resides at Shoals. His wife the former Martha Bradley, whom he married November 23, 1946, also survives.

      Other survivors include four sons, Sgt. Michael Wade, with the U.S. Air Force in Puerto Rico; A1/C William Wade, stationed in Thailand; Mark and Bradley Wade, both at home; four brothers, Virgil Wade, Loogootee; Wayne, George, and John Wade, all of Shoals; three sisters, Mrs. Billy (Joan) Hyslop, Terre Haute; and Mrs. Everett (Delorma) Atkison, and Mrs. Edawad (Mary Mae) Sherfick, both of Shoals.

      Funeral arrangements are incomplete and the body is at the Miller Funeral Home in Loogootee.

      Services For Francis Wade Held Monday
      Funeral services for Francis M. Wade, 48, of East Gate Terrace, Loogootee, were held at 10 a.m., Monday, at St. Johns Catholic Church, and burial was made in St. John's Cemetery, witht eh American Legion Post No. 120 according military honors at the grave.

      Mr. Wade died at 5:45 a.m. Firday, August 7, 1970, at the Daviess County Hospital, following a serious illness of five weeks.

      He was born in Martin County on December 31, 1921, the son of the late George Wade and Mrs. Margaret (Freeman) Wade, of Shoals. On November 23, 1946, he married Martha Bradley, who survives.

      He was a veteran of World War II, having received the Purple Heart and the Bronze Star medals. he was a member of the American Legion Post No. 120 and the K. of C. Lodge, of Loogootee. He was an employee of NAD Crane.

      In addition to his wife and mother, he leaves four sons, Sgt. Michael Wade, US Air Force, Puerto Rico; A/1C William Wade, stationed with the Air Force, in Thailand; Mark and Bradley Wade, both at home; four brothers, Virgil Wade, of Loogootee, Wayne, George, and John Wade, all of Shoals; and three sisters, mrs. Billy (Joan) Hyslop, of Terre Haute; Mrs. Everett (Delorma) Atkison, Jr., and Mrs. Edward (Mary Mae) Sherfick, both of Shoals.

      Honorary pallbearers were Charles Robinson, Joe Seal, C. R. Gray, Frank Strange, John Gates, Edgar Jones, Garland Fellers, Hardy Tevalt. Color Bearers were Edmund Pendley and Charles Ward. Flag Folders were Vincent Dwyer and Clyde Hawkins.; Chaplain, Herschel Jones; Buglers Rita Ward and Lanna Prather; Firing Squad, Howard Trambaugh, Commander; Joe Livers, Charles Burch, Bob Walker, Dwight Hembree, Charles Kidwel, Gene Summers, Bob Pruett, Charles Pruett; Color Guard, Harley Bratton and Joe Lannan.
