Charles Sherfick and his brother Samuel and his sister Cora Belle married Tredway siblings, Dicey C., Becky Ann, and George Tredway respectively.
At the time of 1910 census Samuel S. Sherfick is living in Lost River Twn, Martin Co., Indiana 7 of his children including Effie and Everett from former marriage.
Samuel Sherfick was Martin County Commissioner from 1923-24, 24-25, and 25-26.
Listed as farmer in 1930 Martin Co. census.
Died of a stroke.
Found his middle initial in the Martin County Historical Museum in a government official list of Martin County (clerk) as "A." His obituary lists it as "S" like his father's.
OBITUARY:
Samuel S. Sherfick, son of Daniel and Aletha Moore Sherfick, was born in the state of Ohio, Nov. 3, 1867. When he was one year old, the family moved to Martin County, IN and settled on a farm south of Shoals. There he remained the remaining years of his life until death came Jan. 30, 1941. He had lived 73 years, 2 mos., and 27 days. In early life, he became a teacher and became interested in farming and was one of the county's most progressive. He was commissioner for three years. His wife, Mrs. Becky Ann Tredway Sherfick survives. His children: Thomas Sherfick, Everett Sherfick, and Mrs. Fae Kerns of Shoals; Mrs. Marie Jones of Loogootee; Mrs. Charles Autter, Mrs. Shirley Pendley, Mrs. Orville Hundley, and John Sherfick of Indianapolis; and Smuel Sherfick, of New Albany.

Stroke Is Fatal To Samuel S. Sherfick
Funeral services are set for 1 p.m. today (Friday) at the Christian Church for Samuel S. Sherfick, 73, who died at 5 a.m. Thursday morning following a paralytic stroke. Burial will be in Spring Hill cemetery.
He had been in failing health the past three years.
A well-known farmer, he was born in Lost River Township November 3, 1867 to Daniel and Aletha Sherfick He was married Sept. 7, 1899, and the widow survives.
Surviving children are Everett Sherfick, Thomas D. Sherfick, and Mrs. Faye Kerns, of Shoals; Mrs. Essie Auter, Mrs. Jessie Pendley, Mrs. Grace Hundley, and John Sherfick, all of Indianapolis; Mrs. Marie Jones of Loogootee, and Samuel Sherfick of New Albany. He also leaves 28 grandchildren.
He was a member of the Shoals Christian Church.
