      CHARLES (DEWEY) SHERFICK
      Charles (Dewey) Sherfick, 75, Shoals, died at his residence Wednesday at 5:30 a.m. He had been seriiously ill since December.

      Mr. Sherfick was born April 9, 1900 to the late Charles and Dicie (Tredway) Sherfick in Martin County. He was a retired farmer and a member of the Shoals American Legion Post 61.

      On February 18, 1950 he married Georgia Gerkin who survives.

      Other survivors include two sisters, Mrs. Zora Abel, Seymour, and Mrs. Elsie Hufstetler of Colorado; one brother, Harold of Pekin, Indiana. One brother and five sisters are deceased.

      Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Friday at the Queen Funeral Home in Shoals with the Rev. Samuel Ohanian officiating. Burial will be in Sprill Hill Cemetery. The Shoals American Legion Post 61 will conduct graveside military rites. Friends may call after 1 p.m. Thursday at the Queen Funeral Home.

      Obituary 2:
      Funeral services for Charles Dewey Sherfick, 75, were held at 1:30 p.m. Friday, at the Queen Funeral Home, with Rev. Samuel Ohanian officiating.

      The Hanson McFee Post No. 61 of the American Legion conducted military rites at Spring Hill Cemetery. Eddie Jones served as Sgt.-At-Arms and Vincent Dwyer was Chaplain. Color Bearers were Waldo Warner and Sam Bough.

      Pallbearers were Gene Baker, Morris Allbright, Mike Dwyer, Charles Johnson, Thomas Harder, and Donald Shaw.

      Mr. Sherfick died at 5:30 a.m. Wednesday, April 16, 1975, at his home. He had been ill since December, 1974. He was born in Martin County on April 9, 1900, the son of Charles and Dicie (Tredway) Sherfick. He was a retired farmer and a veteran of World War II, having served in the U. S. Army. He was a member of the Shoals American Legion Post No. 61.

      On February 18 1950, he married Georgia Gerkin and she survives. He also leaves a brother, Harold Sherfick, of Pekin, Ind., and two sisters, Mrs. Zora Abel, of Seymour, Ind., and Mrs. Elsie Hufstetler, of Colorado. One brother and five sisters preceded him in death.
